Babar and His Children is opened to 2-page spread that pictures a parade of friends bearing gifts for Babar and Celeste’s newborn triplets. The stream of friends is elongated by pull-out section on left that pictures a line of baby elephants orphaned by the ivory trade in Nairobi (San Diego Union-Tribune, April 12, 2000). Partially hidden behind the left side of the book is a can of "Force’s Poison Peanuts” and some faux peanuts resting on the shelf.
