Tableau: The Crossing
This is a full view of the tableau. The text above the installation is a quote from a survivor of the Donner Party, which establishes the historical theme of migration. The vintage child’s red table is augmented by a commercially printed theater curtain, which rises in back of the table and encloses the sides.
The theatrical millieu is enhanced by the black background and a spotlight under the theater's curtain overhang on the left hand side. The little red chair provides a symbolic seat for the theater-goer.
